Sonu Nayyar is a highly accomplished and seasoned technology executive, currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (SVP & CIO) at NVIDIA, a role he has held since April 2020. With over three years in this position, Sonu leads a global team tasked with delivering innovative technology solutions. These solutions are pivotal in enhancing the productivity of over 25,000 employees and play a critical role in driving NVIDIA’s long-term technology vision and supporting its business objectives and growth. Prior to joining NVIDIA, Sonu had a one-year tenure at Microsoft as the General Manager for Azure Global, where he contributed significantly to Microsoft's cloud computing strategies. Before this, he had a successful nine-year career at LinkedIn, where he rose through the ranks from Senior Director of Production Operations to Vice President of Infrastructure and Enterprise Engineering. During his time at LinkedIn, he was responsible for leading the Production Infrastructure Engineering and Enterprise IT teams, ensuring the smooth operation of tech infrastructure services and enterprise systems for the company’s 15,000+ employees globally. Sonu's extensive experience also includes a six-year stint at Yahoo! as the Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering, where he was responsible for the engineering operations of all production and corporate technology infrastructure on a global scale. He also served as the IT Director at Bytemobile for three years. Educationally, Sonu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo, where he studied from 1988 to 1993.
